Advisory Board and Committee Openings

The Gainesville City Commission is pleased to receive applications for consideration to the following boards/committees. Applications from previous application cycles will not be considered; all applicants must submit an application during the current cycle. For information, please contact the Office of the Clerk of the Commission in person (City Hall, 200 E. University Ave., first floor) or by telephone at 352-334-5015. Applications may be picked up and submitted in person or online.

City Residency Required

Applications must be received in the Office of the Clerk of the Commission by 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).

  • Gainesville Art in Public Places Trust (1 full term ending Sept. 30, 2023)
  • Gainesville Human Rights Board (1 partial term ending Feb. 22, 2022)
  • Historic Preservation Board (5 full terms ending June 1, 2023)
  • SHIP - Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (10 full terms ending July 1, 2022)
  • Student Community Relations Board (3 voting student full terms ending Sept. 30, 2021, 1 voting non-student full ters ending Sept. 30, 2022)

City Residency Not Required

Applications must be received in the Office of the Clerk of the Commission by 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).

  • Fire Safety Board of Adjustment (1 full term ending Nov. 1, 2022)
  • Gainesville Cultural Affairs Board (3 full terms ending Sept. 30, 2023)
