Transportation Services Division

 

The Transportation Services Division is responsible for the planning, design, operation and maintenance necessary to provide an effective and safe transportation network for vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.

The Division consists of:

  • Engineering
  • Traffic Operations
    • Traffic Signal Maintenance and Operation Services countywide
    • Traffic Sign and Marking Maintenance
  • Parking Program
    • University Residential Parking Permit Program
    • Downtown Parking Program
    • City Employees Parking
    • SMART Cards (for payment at meters) - available at the SW Downtown Parking Garage, 103 SW 3rd Street, across from Market Street Pub.

More Locations for SMART Card Purchase
Now there are three locations to purchace SMART Cards. The SMART Card for parking meter payment is available at: SW Downtown Parking Garage, 103 SW 3rd Street, Administrative Office; Thomas Center “B,” 306 NE 6th Avenue, Public Works Department, Payment Counter (1st floor); and City of Gainesville, City Hall, 200 E. University Avenue, Finance Department (3rd floor).
