Gainesville Fire Rescue Support Services Division

Greetings from Support Services!

The Mission of Support Services is to prepare our members with the knowledge, skills and abilities to serve the Gainesville community in the most efficient, professional and safe manner possible.  Our Division oversees the Department's Training, Special Operations, Recruitment and Logistical support.  Visit the links over on the left side of the screen under Support Services for details on each of these areas.

Our Division provides ongoing training programs in both firefighting and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for all personnel.  Training ranges from new employee orientation and skills proficiency to competency-based checks of engine company and truck company operations to Company Officer development and facilitating higher education through attendance to the State Fire College, the National Fire Academy, regional community colleges and the University of Florida.

GFR continues to offer courses in the Department for Fire Inspectors, Arson Investigators and Company Officers.  Our classes for 2008 are listed in .pdf format below.
