Zoning & Land Use Atlases
The Zoning Atlas and the Land Use Atlas are pdf files. They are not
interactive maps.
To use these atlases, you must know the address or general location of the property
and be able to find it on a street map. You cannot "search" for a parcel by entering
a tax number or owner's name.
To view the atlases in the correct layout, you may need the latest version of Adobe
Acrobat Reader
Each atlas contains a series of quarter section maps that make up the entire area
inside the city limits. In order to locate a parcel, you'll need to find its quarter
section number. To find the quarter section number, you can use the Detailed Atlas
Grid or you can use the generalized "Atlas Grid Page" provided in the atlas and
available when you open it.
If you are familiar with compiled pdf files, you should have no trouble navigating
the atlases. If you do not see a zoning/land use abbreviation on a parcel, refer to
the default zoning/land use listed on each map's legend.
For more help using the atlases, please read our Atlas Users Guide .
We also have a more generalized color Zoning Map and Land Use Map in
our Map Library.
IMPORTANT: The information on these atlases should not be used as the basis for making
financial decisions. You must contact the Planning Department to confirm the parcel
specific zoning, land use, and permitted uses. Prior to locating within the City limits,
all businesses must obtain an approved Zoning Compliance Permit
to verify their zoning and to determine whether or not the proposed use is permitted.
The Zoning Compliance Permit is a non-fee permit and requires 2-3 working days for
the Planning Division to process. Please contact the Planning Divison at 352-334-5023
for further information.
