2020 SUMMER HEATWAVE

Registration will open on April 27!

The Summer Heatwave program is a collaboration between the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department, the Gainesville Police Department, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Department, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the 8th Judicial Circuit of the State Attorney’s Office. The program provides a positive alternative for teens during the summer months when too much idle time often leads to increases in juvenile crime. The program provides an educational life skills component, a basketball league and pool parties all completely free of charge for participants!

We are looking forward to an exciting season!  Registration brochures will be sent to your child's school in April.  You can also get a registration forms, in April, at MLK Rec Center, Albert Ray Massey Rec Center, Eastside Community Center, Porters Community Center, Clarence R.
