Youth Basketball

Youth Coed Basketball = Sportsmanship + Character! All kids play and it's fun for everyone! Practices take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center. Games begin in January and take place in Alachua County and the surrounding areas. Registration opens Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019 and closes Friday, November 22. No registrations accepted after this date.  Please see drop down below for registration forms.

There are only 160 spaces available!  Register early because teams fill quickly. The registration fees are as follows:

  • 5-6 year olds: city residents $75*, non-city residents $111
  • 7-14 year olds: city residents $95*, non-city residents $143.25

*Proof of residency (GRU bill or voter ID card) is required for city residents. Prices effective October 1, 2019. $15 Dollar Off Scholarships are available for families that are directly certified through the School Board of Alachua County (SBAC) for free or reduced lunch. You can request proof of free or reduced lunch by calling the SBAC’s Food Service Office at 352-955-7539 ext. 1569.

Important Dates (all at Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center [MLK], on 1028 NE 14th Street):

Registration opens: Tuesday, October 1, 2019
Registration closes: Friday, November 22 (no registrations accepted after this date)
Parent meeting: Monday, December 9 at 7 pm at MLK
Practice starts:  The week of Tuesday, December 10  (Not every team will begin practice the same day) 
Player evaluations: Wednesday, December 4 for kids ages 5-6 at 6:00pm; ages 7-8 at 7:00pm; and ages 9-10 at 8:00pm.  Thursday, December 5 for kids ages 11-12 at 6:00 pm; ages 13-14 at 7:00 pm; and makeup evaluation for all ages at 8:00pm.
Games start: Saturday, January 11, 2020
Season ends: Saturday, February 22, 2020

Free Skills Clinics at MLK! Learn from Eastside High School coaching staff!
Monday, December 2: Ages 10 & Under; Tuesday, December 3: Ages 11–14, clinics are 6–8 pm.

All players will be evaluated and drafted. Placement will be determined through the mandatory evaluations. We will not accept specific requests for coaches. See you on the court!
