2022 Jr. Lifeguard Camp (June 6–24)

Splash into fun and safety!
This program encourages campers to take on leadership roles and challenges them mentally and physically. All campers learn the primary responsibilities of a lifeguard. This camp is action-packed with fun activities, field trips, games and swimming!
Registration opens Monday, May 2, 2022.
Fees per week
City residents* $95.75; non-city residents $143.80; a $25 field trip fee may apply. *Proof of residency (GRU bill or voter ID card) is required at the time of registration.
Campers have the opportunity to earn CPR and first aid certifications.

11–14 years old
Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., drop-off as early as 7:45 a.m.

- Session 1: June 6–10
- Session 2: June 13–17
- Session 3: June 20–24
Campers attending the Aquatic Leadership Camp must be able to swim and complete the following tasks before the first day of camp:
- 100-yard swim
- 1-minute unaided float
- Retrieve a 10 lb. dive weight from 8–10 feet of water
Students must be able to complete all three prerequisites to attend the camp.
Swim tests can be administered Monday–Friday, 4–7 p.m., at the Hunter Pool. Please call the pool before coming: 352-334-2191.
All campers are required to bring their own lunch, snacks, goggles, sunscreen, tennis shoes, socks, towels and swimsuit.
Denim shorts or cut-offs are not allowed. Due to the nature of the camp, it is required that all female participants wear a one-piece swimsuit.
