The band Other Voices and Friends will present California Dreaming, a tribute to the early Laurel County music scene on Friday, July 19 as part of the Free Fridays concert series.

All festivities are free and open to the public, so there is something for everyone this year!
The University of Florida’s World Music Ensembles present a “Free Fridays” concert at the Bo Diddley Plaza Friday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. The event features student and faculty musicians and dancers from UF’s College of the Arts. The lively evening of music and dance also features a guest appearance by world-renowned Brazilian guitarist Yamandú Costa.
The “Free Fridays” Concert Series presents a tribute to the music of Woodstock and a tribute to the music of Jimi Hendrix at Bo Diddley Plaza Friday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m.

America's Navy is coming to Gainesville. The United States Navy Band, Country Current, is performing at Bo Diddley Plaza (111 E. University Ave.) Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. Gainesville is one of nine cities in four states to host a performance by the United States Navy Band during its 2018 tour.
Showtune Shenanigans premiered in 2018 at the City of Gainesville’s JestFest. Created by John Lowe, the celebrated director of music and organist at Gainesville’s Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and talented actor/singer/musician Will Winter, the duo played, sang, acted and danced their way through a variety of popular show tunes. Now with an expanded repertoire and additional musicians, they will play at the All-American Song Fest. This celebration of America’s birthday is held annually at “Free Fridays” on the first Friday in July.
The “Free Fridays” Concert Series presents a tribute to the music of Jackson Brown Friday, May 18 from 8-10 p.m. at the Bo Diddley Plaza. The public is invited to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to our beautiful downtown amphitheater and enjoy this free concert under the stars.

A representative of National Policy Institute (NPI) is scheduled to speak at the University of Florida’s (UF) Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts from 2:30 to 4:30 pm on Thursday, October 19th. To assist law enforcement with ensuring public safety in the Downtown Gainesville business district, the Bo Diddley Plaza will close to the public immediately following the Union Street Famer’s Market event scheduled from 4 pm – 7 pm this evening.
