Gainesville Arts & Parks Foundation's Annual Fundraising Drive

The Gainesville Arts & Parks (GAP) Foundation, Inc. is conducting its annual fundraising drive. The foundation envisions creating a “world class arts and parks community” in Gainesville. The GAP Foundation relies on support from donors to advocate for parks, recreation, and cultural affairs locally. Funds from the annual drive help to develop park improvements, youth sports, nature programs, summer recreation scholarships, murals and art programming in the Gainesville community.

In 2017, funding from the GAP Foundation benefitted several programs:

  • 250 children attended summer camp for free
  • 352walls artists painted four new murals, revitalizing urban spaces in downtown Gainesville
  • Improvements were made to Ironwood Golf Course, parks in east Gainesville and nature trails

“Any amount makes a positive impact, no matter the size of the donation,” says Agapitus “Augi” Lye, president for GAP. “Donations will help improve the quality of life in our community. We ask the community to join us in the cause for better parks, recreation, and cultural facilities and programs.”

Donations may be made online at, and are tax-deductible.
