Race Relations Roundtable & Call To Action-Part 2, Day 1
On February 11, 2017, the City of Gainesville, Office of Equal Opportunity held its most recent community-wide discussion on Race Relations. This initiative will continue focus on Race Relations through a four-part series, which is intended to lead to tangible solutions/actions regarding Race Relations.
The first session in February consisted of a panel discussion and was well attended by the community. During this time, participants and panelists identified several areas of focus/concern, which included economic disparities, educational disparities, poverty, healthcare, etc., for continued discussion with an eye towards actions/solutions as it relates to Race Relations.
Now we invite you to attend the second installment of this initiative at the Thelma A. Boltin Center, 516 NE 2nd. Avenue from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. This session, Part II, Day 1 will consist of a roundtable brainstorming discussion. The purpose of which is to identify obstacles, opportunities, best practices, and possible solutions to the issues that hinder race relations, as well as the civic and economic growth in the Gainesville community. It is our goal to have a diverse group of individuals present for this most important discussion.
