2017 Diversity Awareness Month Poster Contest
Equal Opportunity Director Torey Alston is pleased to announce a new initiative from the Office of Equal Opportunity, in collaboration with the Employee Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee. Together, they are launching the 2017 Diversity Awareness Month Departmental Poster Contest.
Did you know April is Diversity Awareness Month? This month is a celebration of our diverse community. This year’s theme, “Diversity and Inclusion: One City, Many Perspectives,” encourages reflection on how diversity and inclusion is defined. This friendly departmental competition is intended to increase and stimulate diversity and inclusion dialogue among General Government and Gainesville Regional Utilities employees.
The winning poster should reflect an organization that values diversity and inclusion and successfully represents the theme. The winning department will be recognized with a departmental pizza party! Let’s be creative, and spread a message of diversity and inclusion through visual art!
Please see the attachment for further details on the contest. The deadline is Monday, April 17, 2017. Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Director Alston or Dr. Bridget Lee, Diversity & Inclusion Manager at LeeBS@cityofgainesville.org or 352-393-8494.
