2014 Fire Flow Mitigation Credit Applications Due May 1, 2014

Applications for the City of Gainesville Special Assessment for Fire Services 2014 Fire Flow Mitigation Credit Program are now available. Gainesville offers a Fire Flow Mitigation Credit to eligible city property owners whose buildings are subject to the city fire services special assessment.

Parcels containing buildings protected by automatic sprinkler systems that fully meet state and city standards and are properly installed, monitored and maintained are eligible for a 10 percent reduction in net Factored Fire Protection Units assigned to the building(s). Applications must be returned to the Gainesville Fire Rescue Department no later than May 1, 2014. Property owners must provide proof of proper operation and maintenance annually to receive credit. To meet this requirement, property owners must include a copy of the invoice from their last sprinkler inspection conducted within the previous 12 month period of the May 1, 2014 application due date.

Eligibility requirements and applications for 2014 Special Assessment for Fire Services Fire Flow Mitigation Credits are available on the Gainesville Fire Rescue website at http://www.gfr.org. Return completed applications by mail to: Gainesville Fire Rescue, 1025 NE 13th Street, Gainesville, FL 32601, Attn: "Sprinkler Credit" or by fax to: 352-334-2529. Applicants will not receive individual replies unless there is a question about the application or invoice. A list of approved and rejected applications will be posted at http://www.gfr.org within 30 days of the application due date.
