Volunteers Needed for Hoggetowne Medieval Faire

Get swept away with medieval magic by volunteering at the 34th Annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire. Step back in time at the Alachua County Fairgrounds at three consecutive weekends (Jan. 18-19, Jan. 25-26 and Jan. 31-Feb. 2). Become a part of Gainesville’s rich tradition of community service, while enjoying one of the area’s most highly anticipated events.

The success of the faire depends on the commitment and dedication of our volunteers. We need your help to make this year’s event as grand as ever. Volunteer shifts are four hours long, and include a variety of opportunities. Volunteers take tickets, distribute programs, take surveys, engage with children and their families in the kids’ kingdom or booth-sit while artisans take breaks. Volunteers receive free admission to the faire.

Participants of the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire experience an age of chivalry and magic over the faire’s three consecutive weekends. The winding pathways of Hoggetowne overflow with troupes of actors, musicians and street performers. Crowds cheer for armored knights as they joust on the tournament field, while nine stages of continuous entertainment feature majestic performances of full flight falconry, aerial acrobatics and unbelievable magic acts. Guests stroll through a medieval marketplace where hundreds of talented artisans demonstrate their time-honored skills and offer the finest medieval wares.
