Public Hearing on Affordable Housing Advisory Committee's Proposed Incentives & Recommendations Report


The City of Gainesville’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) is holding a public hearing Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. to discuss proposed recommendations to the City Commission regarding strategies and incentives to reduce the impacts of city regulations and policies on the cost of housing. The hearing is in room 201 of Thomas Center “B,” which is located at 306 NE Sixth Ave.  Information about the proposed Incentives and Recommendations Report (IRR) will be presented, and the committee seeks to get feedback from residents concerning the proposed IRR.

The primary purpose of the AHAC is to develop incentive strategies targeting regulatory reform. The City Commission is scheduled to consider the IRR at its Thursday, Nov. 7 meeting.

Copies of the proposed IRR will be available for the public to view at the City of Gainesville Housing and Community Development Division, located in Building “B” of the Thomas Center, at 306 Northeast Sixth Ave. until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019.  Residents may also email John Wachtel, neighborhood planning coordinator, at to request a copy of the IRR.
