1/9/2019

The Fifth Annual Great Invader Raider Rally Registration is now open. Formerly known as the Great Air Potato Round-Up, the Great Invader Raider Rally is an annual, one-day, volunteer-powered work party to remove trash and invasive plant species growing within our city’s parks and natural areas. Registration is required to participate in this event, and interested volunteers may register at www.gnvgreenwaychallenge.org.

Once registered, groups or individual volunteers will be assigned to work to remove invasive plants and trash in pre-selected natural areas from 9 a.m. to around 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19. After the work day, volunteers are invited to a celebration that takes place at Morningside Nature Center (3540 E. University Avenue. The celebration features music, eco-friendly educational booths, beautiful scenery and food available for purchase. Volunteers are also eligible for a raffle where they can win a variety of fabulous prizes! Every volunteer receives a commemorative 2019 Great Invader Raider Rally t-shirt as a thank you for their hard work! The rally t-shirts are highly sought after and volunteers wear them with pride!
