City Pools Extend Hours Due to Unexpected School Closures

Earlier today, it was announced today that Alachua County Public Schools will be closed for the remainder of the week due to continuing issues from Hurricane Irma. The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is pleased to help provide family-friendly options for parents and their children, by opening city pools extended hours Thursday, Sept. 14-Friday, Sept. 15. The locations and times are listed below:

Westside Pool (1001 NW 31st Dr.): Open 6-8 a.m. for lap swim and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. for recreational swim. For more information, call Westside Pool at 352-334-2187.

Northeast Pool (1100 NE 14th St.): Open 6-9 a.m. for lap swim and 11:30 a.m.- 7 p.m. for recreational swim. For more information, call Northeast Pool at 352-334-2191.

Mickle Pool (1717 SE 15th St.): Open 3-7 p.m. for recreational swim. For more information, call Mickle Pool at 352-334-2190.

Regular admission rates apply and children 10 and under must be accompanied by a parent.
