Gainesville150!, the year-long commemoration of the City of Gainesville’s 1869 incorporation, is proud to partner with ARTSPEAKS Courageous Young Voices to present the award-winning, young Baltimore poet Grim Jackson, at the Historic Thomas Center Sunday, March 8 from 4-7 p.m. as part of the talented lineup of young poets who will present at this annual event. The event is free and open to the public.

The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is pleased to announce the opening of the 2020 Showcasing Student Art – K-12 Exhibition. This exhibition is presented by the Alachua County Public Schools’ Visual Arts Program, and is scheduled to run from Friday, Jan. 31 through Friday, March 6, 2020 in the Doris Bardon Gallery.

The Galleries at the Historic Thomas Center are pleased to announce the opening of Synchronica :: Framing Time, which will run Friday, June 28, 2019 – Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020. A public reception for the exhibition takes place Friday, June 28 from 7–9 p.m. during Artwalk Gainesville.

The Galleries at the Historic Thomas Center are pleased to announce the new RockPaperScissors - Playing with Material Change exhibition, which will run Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 – Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. An opening reception will take place Friday, Sept. 28 from 7–9 p.m. during Artwalk Gainesville. The event includes a musical performance by blues and soul band The Ramblin’ Mutts.
