As part of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department Nature Operation’s routine land management practices, a prescribed burn is scheduled for today (Tuesday, Feb. 14), weather and site conditions permitting, at Morningside Nature Center, 3540 E. University Ave., beginning at 10AM and ending before 5PM. The Morningside Nature Center and Living History Farm will be closed to visitors during the burn. This is an ecological fuel reduction burn, which will be conducted with support from the Florida Forest Service. For additional information please call the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department at 352-393-8185.

University Ave., beginning at 12 p.m. and ending before 5 p.m. The Morningside Nature Center and Living History Farm will be closed to visitors during the burn. This is an ecological restoration and fuel reduction burn, which will be conducted with support from the Florida Forest Service. As part of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department Nature Operation’s routine land management practices, a prescribed burn is scheduled for today - Monday, Jan. 9 - weather and site conditions permitting, at Boulware Springs Nature Park, 3300 SE 15th St. beginning at 10 a.m. and ending before 5 p.m. This is an ecological restoration and fuel reduction burn, which will be conducted with support from the Florida Forest Service. The burn will be conducted in the restoration area of the property, and all public access to the northern portion of the park will be prohibited. For additional information please call the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department at 352-393-8185.

Based on current or predicted weather conditions, observed conditions on site, or other factors, today's previously scheduled prescribed burn has been cancelled. This cancellation is in accordance with safe management practices as defined by the Florida Forest Service and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department.
