The City of Gainesville Police Department Police Advisory Council will be conducting a “Virtual” City Commission meeting utilizing communications media technology (“CMT”), related to conducting local government public meetings while under the public health emergency related to the spread of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  The City Hall building is closed to the public.

Police Advisory Council meetings are aimed at allowing public input in decisions on proposed police and community interactions within the City of Gainesville. At the meeting the council will discuss closed Internal Affairs cases, listen to public comment about police interactions within the city, and council to speak about the current climate within the City of Gainesville.

Revisions to the Notice of Meetings may occur at any time permissible and are updated on the official bulletin board and the city website. The official point of notification is the first floor bulletin board in the lobby of City Hall (200 E. University Ave.). All other types of notification (The Gainesville Sun, Channel 12, city website and hard copies available in the Clerk's Office) are provided for the courtesy of our residents, and will be updated within a reasonable time after the official bulletin board, technology permitting. All persons are advised that, if any person decides to appeal any decision made at any of these meetings, they will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose, they need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
