Advisory Board and Committee Openings

The Gainesville City Commission is pleased to receive applications for consideration to the following boards/committees. Applications from previous application cycles will not be considered; all applicants must submit an application during the current cycle. For information, please contact the City Clerk's Office in person (City Hall, 200 E. University Ave., first floor) or by telephone at 352-334-5015. Applications may be picked up and submitted in person or online.

City Residency Required

Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).

  • Board of Trustees of the Consolidated Police Officers’ and Firefighters’ Retirement Plan (2 full terms ending July 31, 2022)
  • Historic Preservation Board (5 full terms ending June 1, 2023)
  • Regional Transit System Citizen Advisory Board (1 partial term ending Sept. 30, 2022)
  • Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area Advisory Board (1 partial term ending Oct. 3, 2021)
  • SHIP – Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (1 partial term ending July 1, 2022)

City Residency Not Required

Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).

  • Fire Safety Board of Adjustment (1 full term ending Nov. 1, 2022)
  • Nature Centers Commission (1 partial term ending Nov. 1, 2023)
  • Pension Review Committee (1 partial term ending Dec. 1, 2024)
  • Wild Spaces Public Places, alternate position (1 partial term ending Sept. 30, 2023)
