Advisory Board and Committee Openings

The Gainesville City Commission is pleased to receive applications for consideration to the following boards/committees. Applications from previous application cycles will not be considered; all applicants must submit an application during the current cycle. For information, please contact the City Clerk's Office in person (City Hall, 200 E. University Ave., first floor) or by telephone at 352-334-5015. Applications may be picked up and submitted in person or online.

City Residency Required

Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).

  • Gainesville Human Rights Board (3 full terms ending Feb. 22, 2024)
  • Historic Preservation Board (5 full terms ending June 1, 2023)
  • SHIP – Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (representative categories required – see application for info) (2 full terms ending July 1, 2022)
  • Student Community Relations Board (1 voting non-student full term ending Sept. 30, 2022)

City Residency Not Required

  • Citizens’ Advisory Committee for Community Development (1 full term ending Nov. 1, 2023)
  • City Beautification Board (2 full terms ending Nov. 1, 2023)
  • Fire Safety Board of Adjustment (1 full term ending Nov. 1, 2022)
  • Nature Centers Commission (1 partial term ending Nov. 1, 2022)
  • Pension Review Committee (1 partial term ending Dec. 1, 2024)
