Advisory Board and Committee Openings

The Gainesville City Commission is pleased to receive applications for consideration to the following boards/committees. Applications from previous application cycles will not be considered; all applicants must submit an application during the current cycle. For information, please contact the City Clerk's Office in person (City Hall, 200 E. University Ave., first floor) or by telephone at 352-334-5015. Applications may be picked up and submitted in person or online.

City Residency Required

Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).

  • SHIP – Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (1 partial term ending July 1, 2022)

City Residency Not Required

Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).

  • City Beautification Board (1 partial term ending Nov. 1, 2023)
  • Fire Safety Board of Adjustment (1 full term ending Nov. 1, 2024)
  • Gainesville Art in Public Places Trust (1 partial term ending Sept. 30, 2023)
  • Public Recreation & Parks Board (2 partial terms ending June 1, 2024; 1 partial term ending June 1, 2022 plus the next full term)

Student Board Seats, City Residency Not Required

The student board seats end Sept. 30, 2022. Applications must be received in the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 (11:59 p.m. if applying online).
